Wear the World Loosely

Beyond the Pulpit

Are you taking time to slow down and focus where your feet are?

“Come and let us walk in the Light of the Lord!” (Is. 2:5)

Don’t be pulled in different directions; become worried or distracted by what’s happening in the world.

We are called to wear the world like a loose garment and not wrap anything from this broken realm around us. Why? One may become unraveled in the process.

Slow down on all levels. Focus on where your feet are right now and dig in with both heels; not allowing the busyness of the season to steal your hope.

Be saturated in prayer throughout each day; offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life. Walk out your faith, in spite of life. Seek His Peace and not chaos.

“We have a choice about whether or not to manifest worry in our lives by trusting God to handle the details.” *

Into the Garden

This week, Hyacinth is returning for an encore performance. What a blessing it is to go out in your back yard and witness God’s creation in action, regardless of the season.

“You wrap yourself with a shimmering, glistening light. You wear sunshine like a garment of glory. You stretch out the starry skies like a tapestry.” (Ps. 104:2)
