Beyond the Pulpit
Son Day for Sunday…
In the most somber moments; when there is intense discouragement everywhere, what can we do except turn to the one who loves us with an everlasting love and hang on to his every word, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis.” (Mt. 11:28)
In times of distress, we lean into Christ…
“It is to the drowning man the heavenly rescuer comes, not the one who chooses to fare well alone!”*
Into the Garden
A new flower had bloomed on my Sun Choke (artichoke) plant in the garden. I was excited to see the bloom and yet had concerns; would this flower survive the wind that was knocking on our door from Hurricane Milton? As you can see in the picture, the plant took a hit but survived. It persevered, an example of what we can do if we hang on to Jesus.
