Which Direction Will You Take? Part 2

Pooh

Winnie the Pooh” is one of my favorite characters. I like to take “Pooh” with me whenever I travel, just in case I get lost.

Pooh, Piglet and Rabbit got lost. They were trying to figure out which direction to take, just like many of us do on our spiritual journey.

“The fact is, said Rabbit, we’ve missed our way somehow.” Can you relate? “I once was lost and now I’m found.”

Pooh was getting rather tired and suspected the sand pit of following them.

Now what?

Rabbit said, “Now, I know where we are” and Pooh said sadly, “So do I.” Piglet said nothing. The three friends were stumped.

Pooh spoke up, “How would it be as soon as we are out of sight of this pit, we find it again?”

“What’s the good of that?” Rabbit asked.

“Well”, Pooh said, “we keep looking for home and not finding it, so I thought, if we looked for this pit we’d be sure not to find it, which would be a good thing, because then we might find something that we weren’t looking for, which might be what we are really looking for.”

“I don’t see much sense in that,” said Rabbit.

Pooh said to Piglet, “Let’s go home.” Piglet responds, “Pooh, do you know the way?” “No”, said Pooh. “But there are twelve pots of honey in my cupboard, and they’ve been calling to me for hours. I couldn’t hear them properly before because Rabbit would talk.”

Sometimes we can’t hear God because we are always talking instead of listening.

Pooh and Piglet walked off together.

For a long time Piglet said nothing, so as not to interrupt the pots, and then he suddenly make a squeaky noise. Now Piglet began to know where he was. There was a shout in front of them and out of the mist came Christopher Robin.”

Pooh said to Piglet, “Rabbits clever.”

“Yes”, said Piglet, “Rabbits clever.”

“And he has a brain.” “Yes”, said Piglet, “Rabbit has a brain.”

There was a long silence.

“I suppose”, said Pooh, “that’s why he never understands anything.”

The next time you get behind the wheel of life without listening to God you may end up in a sand pit. So, which direction will you take!
