“And he said to them, “My heart is overwhelmed and crushed with grief. It feels as though I’m dying. Stay here and keep watch with me.” (Mt. 26)
Prophetic Passage:
Jesus is on the move; getting ready to break bread with friends and family. The table for tonight’s gathering is within view. Some of the curious pilgrims will step in a bit closer to see what the fuss is all about.
We have Jesus’ inner circle; family members and friends who remain dedicated to his cause. Some of his friends are dragging their feet.
The over-all spiritual temperature is beginning to fluctuate. A storm is coming and battle lines are being drawn.
Jesus is looking for you. Will you join him or turn away?
“O God, stay close to me! My strength is found when I wait upon you. Watch over me, God, for you are my mountain fortress; you set me on high!” (Ps. 59 & 71)
There are those who live on the edge without hope and are always on the outside looking in. Where will you be standing when Jesus passes by?
Prayer of the Week:
“All who journey from one beginning to another, in a life of communion with Jesus do not focus on their own progress or backsliding. By day and by night, the Gospel seed, placed in the depths of their being sprouts and grows.” (Br. Roger)
