Beyond the Pulpit

I am like an olive tree flourishing in the House of God. I trust in the unending love of God; his passion toward me is forever and ever.” (Ps. 52:10)

Hello Kindred Soul’s,

God’s love is boundless and limitless; it is there for the taking.

However, hindrances can create blocked passageways. We find ourselves on the outside looking in; instead of being on the receiving end of the abundant life that Jesus so often spoke about.

In order to partake in his abounding love, we have to dig deeper, spiritually; removing “Junk in the Trunk” that chokes out the potential for new growth. WWJD?

In Mark, Chapter 11, Jesus came upon a fig tree and found no fruit. He cursed the tree and said, “You shall not bear fruit hereafter and forever.”

The next morning, as they were passing by, they saw the fig tree shriveled from the roots; Peter spoke up, “Look, the fig tree you cursed has shriveled up.”

Jesus responded, “Have faith in God” meaning, “Have the faith of God.” If one has a strong belief, we can do as Jesus did; with His Word difficulties withers away.

What am I getting at? We have spiritual tools and the instruction manual of scripture at our disposal.

Don’t Look Back…

It can be challenging to let go of the ties that bind us. There can be a desire to constantly revisit the past, instead of embracing what is.

I believe it is important to march beside Christ into the depths of loneliness, despair and brokenness, to find freedom and redemption in his Light and Resurrection.

The plants & flowers found in the garden are a part of God’s creation . As we continue our journey “Beyond the Pulpit & Into the Garden”, I will be introducing you to friends from my garden and God’s Garden.

This week, meet Olive…

Into the Garden

“When Noah sent out the dove; it came to him at evening, and surprisingly—a freshly plucked olive leaf was in its mouth. So Noah knew that the waters had receded from the land.”

Olive symbolizes hope and peace. If there is distress in the mix, it can represent one who is completely overwhelmed and full of despair,, “Will this ever end?” Yes!

Take comfort, “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” (Is. 55:11)
