Inaugural Prayer

Dear Friends,

Last week, while praying with my friend, Rev. Eleanora; we both agreed it was important for us to continue to stand together in prayer, as the need is so great right now. As we were picking another date, we chose Wednesday, 1/20/21, and discovered it was Inauguration Day. Before we ended our prayer time together, Spirit reminded me that I had an inaugural prayer saved on my computer and to use it.

Please stand with us, in prayer, during one of the most tumultuous times in our nations history; and trust that God is in charge!

Keep Praying & Be Blessed,

Rev. Patty

Let us Pray

“Our Father and our God, you said, ‘Blessed is that nation whose God is the Lord.’ We recognize on this historic occasion that we are ‘a nation under God.’ We thank you for this torch of faith handed to us by our forefathers. May we never let it be extinguished. You alone have given us our prosperity, our freedom and our power.

This faith in God is our heritage and our foundation! The whole world is watching to see if the faith of our founders will stand the trials and tests of the hour. Too long we have tried to solve our problems without reference to you. Too long we have tried to live by bread alone.

You said, ‘Promotion comes not from the east nor from the west, but from you, God.’ We acknowledge your divine help in the selection of our leadership each four years.

We recognize Lord, that in your sovereignty you have permitted Joseph Biden and Kamala Harris to lead us at this momentous hour of our history. We beseech you that they will have your divine guidance and power daily. Our Father, we know their burdens and responsibilities will be overwhelming; holding in their hands the destiny of more people than anyone in history.

O God, our new President, Joseph Biden and Vice-President, Kamala Harris both need you, as no one ever needed you, in leading a people! There will be times when they will be overwhelmed by the problems at home and abroad that have been building up to the breaking point for many years. Protect them from physical danger. And in the lonely moments of decision, grant them an uncompromising courage to do what is morally right. Give Joseph Biden & Kamala Harris cool heads and warm hearts, and give them compassion for those in physical, moral, and spiritual need.

O God, we pray for our new president, Joseph Biden to the Presidency of these United States and Vice-President, Kamala Harris, as she makes history on this day. Give both the assurance that from this hour on, they and their families will have the presence and the power of Thy Son who said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’

Bless the rest of the Cabinet. May they be given wisdom and a courage that is beyond their own understanding; leading America to the dawning of a new day with renewed trust in God that will lead to peace, justice, and prosperity.

We pray this humbly in the Name of the Prince of Peace who shed His blood on the Cross-that men might have eternal life. Amen!”*
