His Call – Come Unto Me

Beyond the Pulpit

Is there a person or situation you are avoiding? Are you experiencing a spirit of fear that has you trapped? “The stress of life can make us feel as though the weight of the world has come crashing down all around, like a nameless storm that begins and ends without warning.”*

Let’s keep going…

We are returning to the Book of St. Matthew, Chapter 14, beginning with the feeding of the 5,000. As soon as everyone was fed, Jesus went off to pray.

Upon his return, Jesus’ friends were in the middle of the lake with the sea rocking and rolling. After being scared out of their sandals thinking Jesus was a ghost; Peter piped up and said, “If its really you, have me join you on the water.” Jesus said, “Come and join me.”

The waves of life can cause one to lose her/his spiritual balance; including people or circumstances that we dread. We can count on Jesus to show up in the midst of any stormy season we encounter…

Into the Garden

Yucca is indigenous to my zone and grows in my garden. Yucca is also known as Spanish Bayonet; built with sharp leaves reminding me to pause and pay attention. Like Jesus, the Yucca plant can withstand strong wind and rain.
